Special Project Sponsorship

Current Availability You can choose a specific program to impact based on the shared values and interests of you personally or your organization/company. In certain situations, you’ll also have the opportunity to connect directly with these FFA members. You can choose from one or more of the five categories of special projects:

  • Proficiency Award Program

Agricultural Proficiency Awards honor FFA members who have developed specialized skills through their Supervised Agricultural Experiences that they can apply toward their future careers. Students can compete for awards in 50 areas covering everything from Agricultural Communications to Wildlife Management.

  • Career Development Events (Formerly known as "judging contests")

Career opportunities abound within today's agriculture industry. Career Development Events (CDEs) help students develop the abilities to think critically, communicate clearly, and perform effectively in a competitive job market. There are over 20 CDEs, covering job skills in everything from communications to mechanics.

  • Speaking Contests

Communications skills are vital for all career fields. Students have the opportunity to hone their abilities through eight competitive events. Many areas of skill development are stretched: public speaking, speech writing, cooperative discussion, teamwork, job interview.

  • Scholarships

It's estimated that by 2018, half of all positions in the agriculture, food and natural resource industry positions will require post-secondary education at some level. Scholarships greatly aid students in their career preparedness.

  • Grants

SAE Grants and Chapter Grants are provided to students and chapters who have a great idea and plan, but are in need of financial resources to help them realize their dreams. There are several grant categories offered.
